BII National Training Awards Shortlist Announced

17-Oct-2008

Somewhere in the distance a drum roll can be heard as the shortlist of entrants to the 2008 BII NITAs is announced. BII, the licensed retail industry’s professional body, is seeking to recognise and reward training excellence through its annual national training awards.

Entries have been flooding in for each of the eleven categories from all elements of the industry – restaurant groups, pub companies, breweries, supermarkets, convenience stores, colleges, training companies and individual licensees.

Valuable feedback has been given to all non-shortlisted entrants on their training programmes by BII’s team of judges. Meanwhile, each of the shortlisted organisations and individuals will be visited by the judges for further investigation between now and mid-November when winners will be decided.

BII chief executive John McNamara commented: “The BII NITAs showcase the best in training throughout the licensed retail sector. The judging is robust and the judging team in each category will comprise representatives from industry and the academic world.”

He added: “The NITAs are an important mechanism to raise the standards of training across the licensed retail sector and are a tool for companies to benchmark the effectiveness of their training against others in the sector.”
