Greene King Pub Company is highly commended in the BII 2001 NITAs, held in association with the Morning Advertiser

Bury St Edmonds - based pub operator Greene King Pub Company, has been highly commended in the Award for the Best Course Designed to Improve Social Responsibility category of the BII 2001 NITAs (Rewarding Training Excellence in Licensed Retailing) in association with the licensed retail trade paper, Morning Advertiser.

The Award for the Best Course Designed to Improve Social Responsibility has been developed in this year's competition, to recognise the organisation that has the best training course to reflect Government strategy for dealing with alcohol-related crime and disorder issues.

Entrants who were highly commended were announced today along with the winners, at a prestigious awards ceremony that took place at the Café Royal, London, in front of an audience of high profile industry guests. The awards are run by The British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) and aim to recognise those at the pinnacle of training for the on-licensed retail sector. A full list of winners and finalists is enclosed.

There are eight categories in the BII 2001 NITAs catering for all pub retail companies, both large and small, as well as individual licensees and training organisations. The judges of the competition were looking for evidence that training objectives and outcomes were achieved by maximising the use of resources available.
